Item 12.     Results of Operations and Financial Condition.

 

On October 8, 2003, SUPERVALU INC. issued a News Release announcing its financial results for the quarterly period ended September 6, 2003, comparable store sales for such period, and the voluntary redemption of $100 million of its long-term debt due 2022. A copy of the News Release issued by SUPERVALU INC. in connection with this Item 12 is attached as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein.
