Item 7.01 Regulation FD Disclosure.
AK Steel Holding Corporation is hereby furnishing the following information under Regulation FD:
On July 25, 2006, AK Steel Corporation issued a press release, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit No. 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein, announcing that its board of directors has authorized the company to make a voluntary $50 million contribution to its pension trust. The $50 million contribution follows an $84 million early payment AK Steel made in May, and a $150 million voluntary contribution the company made in January of 2005.
