VRG Announces Interline Agreement with Copa
São Paulo, May 12, 2008 GOL Linhas Aéreas Inteligentes S.A. (NYSE: GOL and Bovespa: GOLL4), the parent company of Brazilian airlines GOL Transportes Aéreos S.A. and VRG Linhas Aéreas S.A., announces an interline agreement between VRG and Panama-based Copa Airlines. Effective immediately, travel agencies can issue e-tickets for VRGs domestic flights in conjunction with Copas international destinations.
The agreement will offer additional benefits for VRG passengers in Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, Porto Alegre, Recife or Salvador. From these cities, customers traveling to Central America, the Caribbean, the United States, Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela, can now connect to Copa flights with just one ticket. Additionally, passengers will have the added convenience of checking their luggage through to their final destination.
Since September 2007, VRG has participated in MITA (Multilateral Interline Traffic Agreement), an IATA network of airlines from around the world. All MITA members have the option to enter interline agreements with other member airlines.
In addition to these new partnerships, VRG maintains interline agreements with Brazils GOL, Frances Air France, Germanys Hahn Air, Greeces Aegean, Holands KLM, Hungarys Malev, Israels El Al, Italys Air One, Japans Japan Airlines (JAL), Mexicos Mexicana, Moldovas Air Moldova, Polands LOT Polish Airlines, Portugals TAP Portugal, South Koreas Korean Air, Spains Iberia and Air Comet, Qatars Qatar Airways, Taiwans China Airlines, the Czech Republics CSA Czech Airlines, the Ukraines Ukraine International Airlines, the United Arab Emirates Etihad Airways, the United States Delta Air Lines and Turkeys Turkish Airlines.
Passengers traveling under the Smiles frequent flier program can only accumulate miles on flights operated by VRG.
