Regulation FD Disclosure.
|
AK Steel Holding Corporation is hereby furnishing the following information under Regulation FD:
On July 9, 2010, AK Steel Corporation issued a press release, a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit No. 99.1 and incorporated by reference herein, announcing that members of the United Steelworkers (USW) Local 1865 union have ratified a three-year extension to a labor agreement covering about 750 hourly production and maintenance steel operations employees at the company’s Ashland (KY) Works. The terms of the extension are effective as of July 1, 2010. The contract extension contains, among other terms, new language which allows the company flexibility in operating the Ashland Works to meet market conditions, while committing to significant capital investments of approximately $30 million over the life of the contract in the steelmaking plant, in particular the blast furnace.
