The Home Depot X Energy Star: Making Energy Choices That Count for You and the Climate

By: 3BL Media

SOURCE: The Home Depot

DESCRIPTION:

In 1992, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) introduced the ENERGY STAR program, designed to help businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency.

“We began our partnership with ENERGY STAR in 2001. Since then, we’ve grown to offer our customers ENERGY STAR certified products in most all home energy consuming categories,” says Ron Jarvis, vice president of environmental for The Home Depot. “The products are driving savings and creating value for our customers; it’s a win-win for economics and the environment.”

Today, The Home Depot’s partnership with ENERGY STAR is all about educating our associates and customers on energy efficiency. With more than 13,000 ENERGY STAR products in stores and online, the company has everything from associate training to customer rebates to drive awareness and encourage adoption of energy efficient options.

Products that earn the ENERGY STAR label are independently certified to save energy and help protect the climate. The less energy used, the sooner we can complete the transition to clean, renewable energy – and save on household energy bills.

All ENERGY STAR home upgrades are designed to work together to deliver significant energy and savings. Consider making high-impact energy efficiency improvements to your home by taking advantage of opportunities to choose green power as your main energy source wherever you can.

Learn more about ENERGY STAR products on the company’s Eco Actions website, and see other ways The Home Depot is committed to energy conservation by visiting these renewable energy initiatives and our 2021 ESG Report.
