Green the Desert: 3TREES Protects Alxa with Love

Executives, employees and partners of SKSHU Paint Co., Ltd. (“3TREES”), with love in heart, traveled as far as 2,000 kilometers to Alxa in an effort to safeguard the clear water and blue sky with their downright actions.

Far away in the vast desert of Inner Mongolia in Alxa, Zhu Qifeng, Vice President of 3TREES, was fulfilling 3TREES’s dream for public welfare by way of carrying out his social responsibility, participating in the Campaign "Re-taking the Road of Guang Xiao" staged by Alxa SEE, and measuring the journey to his dream with his footprints. He reviewed the oath of SEE Guang Xiao, President of Alxa SEE, stepped on the road that President Guang Xiao had traveled, planted a grove of Saxaul Trees for him, and showed the spirit of 3TREES, to constantly awaken more enterprises' awareness of environmental protection and public welfare.

More than 40 senior executives, middle-level cadres and customers of SKSHU Paint Co., Ltd gathered in Suhaitu Gacha, Alxa League, to visit the one million saxaul trees donated and planted during the "99 Public Welfare Day" event held on September 5, 2017 to arouse the awareness of public benefit in the employees, distributors and people from all walks of life, and to call on everyone into joint care for the environment and participation in public welfare undertakings.

3TREES joined hands with Tencent Public Welfare to participate in the "100 Million Saxaul Trees" project during the "99 Public Welfare Day" in 2016 staged by Alxa SEE, a public welfare organization, and in just three days, a total of 5 million yuan was donated by the participants and Tencent Public Welfare, and a targeted fund of 5 million yuan was donated by 3TREES with a total of nearly 10 million yuan for public welfare funds, and the amount was dedicated to planting saxaul trees. Also, in the coming ten years, 3TREES will continue to support the "100 Million Saxaul Trees" project.

The "3TREES Saxaul Trees Forest" has taken root in Suhaitu, and these trees have been growing gratifyingly. The visit by 3TREES is to check the survival rate of saxaul trees and, on the other hand, to water the trees to help it continue to grow vigorously.

Pang Zongping, director of Alxa SEE Desertification Control Center, greatly appreciated the kindness of 3TREES. He said that the "100 Million Saxaul Trees" Project was started in 2014, and 47.6 billion square metres of saxaul trees have been planted up to now, among which 3TREES donated 5 million yuan to SEE for 6,666,000 square meters of saxaul trees from the previous year to 2016. At present, saxaul trees have been growing well thanks to 3TREES for their support to SEE's "100 million Saxaul Trees" Project. The significance of planting saxaul trees is far more than restoring ecology. In fact, the "100 Million Saxaul Trees" Project is not only one of public welfare, but also a poverty alleviation effort as the roots of saxaul trees can be grafted cistanche deserticola, a rare Chinese medicine with high economic value and is a national endangered plant. Therefore, planting saxaul trees can not only prevent wind and fix sand, help Alxa restore ecology, but also bring considerable income to local herdsmen, arose their enthusiasm for afforestation and forest protection, control sand and get rich, and achieve the goal of win-win ecological and economic benefits.
