Italy - Ideas For Como, Thanhoffer Enrico And 23 Other Artists Interpret The City And Its Lake

After the interruption during the years of the pandemic, the exhibition 'Come...per Como' returns, the seventh edition of an exhibition that calls on various local artists to interpret the city and its lake. Open from 14 to 23 June, organized by the Circolo Cultura e Arte di Como, the exhibition hosts 48 works, in a range of interesting and original proposals. Like that of Enrico Thanhoffer, President of the Circolo Cultura e Arte and also known by his stage name Munico, who presents a painting to suggest a 'tourist' idea to the municipal administration: a cable car to connect the opposite shores of the lake between Villa Geno and Villa del Grumello.

Thanhoffer already known for his unique style

in 2006 he had already proposed a picture/project of a monument on the Como dam, subsequently created by the architect Daniel Libeskind, while in these periodshas emerged to the attention of public opinion for his digital protest paintings, such as the famous "Fraudulent media doctors" in which he represents a snake doctor surrounded by tongues of fire, thus inserting it into the group of Dante's "Divine Comedy" dedicated to fraudulent, the media doctors who invaded television during the Covid period.

Also noteworthy is the work "Lacryma Cristi" in which he represents Jesus crying while looking at a smartphone and also for his irony on climate change, representing a plane disguised as a cloud that throws water bombs.

“The 24 artists have the ambition to represent the city of Como and the surrounding environment from different angles and with different sensibilities – explained Vincenzo Guarracino, poet, essayist and art critic who inaugurates the exhibition at the Meeting Metropol Suisse space –Everyone beyond specific personalities, whether by experience, origin or talent." Among the other artists present Doriam Battaglia, Tino Tajana, Filippo Gugliotta, Giorgio Gaffuri, Germana Bedont, Ylenia Alagia, Luisella Abbondi, Caterina Plodari, Giuliana Reghenaz, Michela De Toma, Adriano Rovi. shows works that imagine fantasies on the lake, female figures that blend into the waves, on the Volta Temple, the museum dedicated to the Como physicist Alessandro Volta, on the Gothic style Cathedral was born on the occasion of Expo 2015, inspired by the same theme of the Universal Exhibition held in Milan, 'Feeding life'.
