Demand for household wipes was soaring during COVID-19 pandemic as consumers sought effective and convenient ways to clean their houses. Data from Smithers’ recent market report, The Future of Global Wipes to 2029, shows that in 2024 global household wipes sales will reach $7.9 billion, consuming 240,100 tons of non-woven material. Smithers nonwovens consultant, said demand for household wipes is still rising post-pandemic, but not to the level as in 2020 and 2021, when the request was 200% of historical norms. Smithers said that in 2023, North American demand for wipes is about 10% higher than pre-pandemic. COVID-19 has introduced many new consumers to disinfecting and cleaning wipes. Many of them continue to buy the product, maybe not same volumes as during the pandemic. But it’s a known solution for many people.
