MonkeySports Introduces Trade-in Program Powered by SidelineSwap

Trade-ins enable MonkeySports athletes to quickly & easily turn their used sports gear into store credit to spend with MonkeySports, while helping youth sports organizations.

MonkeySports, a leading retailer of premium hockey, baseball, & lacrosse equipment in North America & Europe, announced a trade-in program powered by SidelineSwap’s Recommerce Platform. MonkeySports customers will be able to trade-in their used sports gear at trade-in events and receive MonkeySports store credit to use towards their next purchase. Items that do not qualify for trade-in can also be donated to local youth programs in-need.

According to Brendan Candon, CEO of SidelineSwap, “In the new circular economy where consumers are embracing the resale & purchase of used goods, SidelineSwap’s Recommerce Platform provides MonkeySports athletes the convenience & ease of selling their used & unwanted sporting goods where they shop. This puts more money in the pockets of MonkeySports athletes, while also allowing the used gear to play on to another athlete and remain out of landfills.”

“When a customer knows they can recoup some value from last season’s baseball bat, hockey skates, or lacrosse gear, they’re more likely to upgrade to new gear for the upcoming season,” says Candon. “That’s a win for MonkeySports and the brands they sell, a win for their athletes, and a win for the athlete who eventually buys the quality used gear at a good value.”

John Namaan, CEO of MonkeySports, stated “We are excited to partner with SidelineSwap to enable our athletes to easily trade-in their unwanted used sports gear from prior seasons and receive store credit to help lower the cost of new gear for the upcoming season. We know MonkeySports athletes are looking for ways to save money, so giving them an easy trade-in option is not just good for business, it’s good for sports and the environment.”

MonkeySports athletes who attend trade-in events at MonkeySports locations can simply bring their used gear to the event and it will be evaluated by experts using SidelineSwap’s proprietary trade-in technology. Athletes receive a quote for gear that meets the trade-in guidelines and, upon acceptance, they will be issued a MonkeySports store credit.
