Shoptalk Launches ‘The New Market’ to Redefine How Retailers & Consumer Brands Reach their Customers

Shoptalk, the leading global event for retail and e-commerce, today announces the official launch of The New Market at Shoptalk, an event dedicated to showcasing the innovations, technologies and thought leadership that will drive the future of how retailers and consumer brands market to their customers. Announced on-stage at Shoptalk 2024, The New Market will take place as part of Shoptalk 2025 (March 23-26, 2025) at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Building upon the trusted educational content and thought leadership that Shoptalk is known for, The New Market at Shoptalk will bring together the most innovative senior executives from marketing, advertising, media and consumer attention to collaborate, share ideas and redefine the future of the attention industry. Sessions will include content dedicated to addressing the growing challenges facing retailers as the ecosystem continues to expand beyond retail media networks (RMNs).

“Pioneering alliances between players from within and outside the retail ecosystem will transform the ways that a brand can interact with its audience, and the quality of those interactions,” says Sophie Wawro, Global President, Shoptalk. “Our goal with the launch of The New Market at Shoptalk is to provide a forum for retailers and other stakeholders from across the media landscape. Together, we will share strategies and solutions for creating memorable, timely and engaging customer journeys that deliver maximum ROI for brands, marketers and advertisers, but also experiences that last for their viewers.”

From the emergence of streaming media services to immersive gaming, social and experiential platforms, the battle for consumer attention has intensified in recent years. Following industry efforts to move away from third party tracking cookies, advertisers have begun to turn to RMNs to leverage the first party data and brand equity that retailers have built with consumers. Projections suggest that global RMN ad revenue will surpass TV by 2028, and possibly as soon as next year in the USA.

“The brands that will be most successful in the future will be those that can follow where their customers lead while integrating the right operational and technological capabilities into their existing business operations,” says Mike Antonecchia, SVP, Shoptalk. “Shoptalk has built a reputation for providing a fresh perspective to major industry issues, and we are excited to help provide our community with the necessary guidance and access to industry partners to navigate the new realities of the ever-evolving media landscape.”
