U-Haul to Open New Store and U-Box Warehouse in Moab

The 2 facilities will cater to RV owners, outdoor adventurers, DIY movers and storage customers

U-Haul® is revealing plans for two properties in beautiful Moab that will better meet the moving, self-storage and recreational needs of Grand County.

U-Haul Moving & Storage of Moab will be a new retail, moving and self-storage center at 3798 E. Sunny Acres Lane.

The property was acquired in March 2023 and will begin serving customers from a temporary retail showroom on Aug. 19 while offering truck and trailer rentals, moving supplies and more. When the center is completed in March 2025, it will feature 700 climate-controlled self-storage units for rent.

The second property, U-Box & Storage of Moab, will serve as a portable storage and secure RV parking facility at 11860 S. Highway 191. It is scheduled to open in January 2025. U-Haul will implement its ecofriendly Adaptive Reuse program to transform the industrial warehouse currently occupying the lot.

In addition to repurposing the existing warehouse space, plans call for a second building to accommodate 750 portable moving and storage containers. U-Box® has been honored repeatedly as the best moving container in the industry.

Moab is located between Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, making it a premier destination for outdoor activities like mountain biking, off-roading and camping.

“We are very excited to become a member of the Moab business community,” said Brad Ling, U-Haul Company of South Utah president. “This is one of the country’s most famous areas for outdoor recreation and beautiful landscapes.

“Our expansion in Moab will provide access to affordable solutions for moving, self-storage, and secure on-site RV and ATV storage, in addition to many other trusted services that U-Haul customers demand.”

Ling plans to hire up to 19 Team Members to staff both facilities. U-Haul will look to hire locally to promote job growth in the Moab community. U-Haul, honored as a Best for Vets employer by The Military Times, actively recruits veterans and gives them preference in the hiring process. Find U-Haul careers at uhauljobs.com.

Acquisition of the warehouse was driven by U-Haul Corporate Sustainability initiatives: U-Haul supports infill developments to help local communities lower their carbon footprint. The adaptive reuse of existing buildings reduces the amount of energy and resources required for new-building materials and helps cities reduce their unwanted inventory of unused buildings.

Until the Moab stores are available, customers can find U-Haul products at two small businesses in Moab serving as rental locations for trucks and trailers. The nearest full-service store is in Grand Junction, Colo.
