Corvias oversees operations for 43 buildings and more than 16,000 beds across 14 campuses. This includes: Purdue University, University of Notre Dame, North Carolina Central University, Wayne State University, Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Augusta University, College of Coastal Georgia, Columbus State University, Dalton State College, East Georgia State College, Georgia Southern University – Armstrong, Georgia State University, and University of North Georgia.

“Living on campus provides many social, academic, and personal benefits, such as a sense of community, affordability, convenience, higher engagement, and retention. A successful turn sets the foundation for these benefits and supports students on their higher education journey,” said Thelma Edgell, president, higher education, for Corvias.

Since May, the Corvias Property Management team has been working closely with Residence Life at each University to prepare for incoming students moving into its properties and live-learn communities. This often includes moving cohorts of students out from the previous semester in a matter of hours, repairing and cleaning units, performing seasonal preventative maintenance, and quickly getting units ready for summer camps and conferences, and then the upcoming school year for fall move-in.

Recognized numerous times for its property management and maintenance services, the company has implemented standards, procedures, and training to support a seamless experience. By gathering resident feedback at move-in and upon work order completion, for example, the team can better understand strengths and opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the Corvias team has incorporated time-saving and proactive efficiencies, such as an integrated property management system, digital turn boards for real-time updates, Apple iPads to support workflow management, and increased communications to help anticipate and adapt to the evolving needs of the higher education landscape.

“From the COVID-19 pandemic and market changes to occupancy challenges and academic attrition, we are continuously learning and tweaking our processes to support our partners and meet students where they are. Our unique Solutions Through Partnerships® approach takes the worry out of move-in and we pride ourselves on creating an environment where students can thrive and focus on their academics,” said Edgell.

With the high-demand for on-campus housing, Corvias added additional beds and created even more space for more than 120 student residents at Purdue and Augusta.

“We are grateful to have had a successful turn season across our campuses, created extra value for our partners, and delivered a positive experience for our student residents who call our residence halls home. We wish our student residents a wonderful year ahead,” said Edgell.
