de Winkel family, a Supplier of Color Diamonds to Ecodyum, Set To Host a Summer Party for European Guests in Switzerland

Ecodyum, which has introduced color diamonds to Korea as an alternative investment, welcomes the hosting of the de Winkel family in Switzerland. Ecodyum also plans to hold a private show and an exhibition, highlighted by a 4.06 carat, heart shape, honey colored diamond necklace.

The de Winkel family, a supplier of color diamonds to Ecodyum, Korea, since 2022, announced it will be hosting a summer party for European guests at Collina d'oro in Ticino, Switzerland, on August 31, 2024.

The de Winkel family, which is known for its extensive involvement in alternative investment projects for more than 25 years worldwide, has been a leading supplier of color diamonds to Ecodyum, Korea, since 2022.

Mr. Chong Chul Chae, CEO of Ecodyum, Korea, has paved the way to introduce color diamonds to Korea as an alternative investment object through various exhibitions cooperated with renowned art galleries such as the National Gallery, London, and the National Museum of Korea.

Ecodyum, Korea, plans to hold a private show and an exhibition highlighted by a 4.06-carat, heart-shaped, honey-colored diamond necklace in November in Korea.

This necklace was designed and set by a well-known Swiss jeweler, Gubelin. This heart-shaped diamond, weighing 6.50 carats, was cut by Mr. Herman Wynens in Antwerp, Belgium.

In a statement, Mr. Wynens described it as a "memorable diamond" and "the most difficult color diamond" he had to cut.

"When I started polishing, I first made four tiny windows to look inside, then decided a heart shape would be best; an oval would mean losing more weight," shared Mr. Wynens.

"As I was polishing it, I saw I could keep more weight by adding extra facets under the girdle – this is not something we'd ever do with a colorless diamond. Normally, in a good polish, you keep around 50% of the original weight, but here, we did even better," Mr. Wynens added.

Mr. Wynens stressed that diamonds "need fire color, and weight, and to keep all three together was very difficult." He added: "It took one month, and in the end, I delivered a heart-shaped, 4.06 carat, honey-colored diamond. The entire time I worked on this diamond, my toes were curled up."
