TGR Foundation Empowers Students through Transformative Educational Experience

TGR Foundation, founded by Tiger Woods in 1996, celebrates 28 years of transforming education through TGR Learning Labs and innovative STEAM programs. With 200,000 students impacted, it fosters career exploration, skill development, and mentorship, preparing young people for academic and professional success.

TGR Foundation, established by golf legend Tiger Woods on November 18, 1996, is proud to highlight the transformative impact of its TGR Learning Labs and education programs, which provide students from under-resourced communities access to empowering opportunities. As it celebrates 28 years of impacting lives, TGR Foundation remains dedicated to creating safe, inspiring spaces and innovative programs where students can pursue their passions, develop critical skills and gain the confidence needed to succeed in their future academic and professional endeavors.

The TGR Learning Labs offer dynamic education programs centered on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) educational enrichment, health and well-being and career and college readiness. Through project-based learning, the labs allow students to experience STEAM subjects while exploring fields like robotics, computer programming and engineering. With a focus on mentorship and real-world applications, the Learning Labs provide ongoing, comprehensive support to students as they chart a course toward their dreams.

Since the launch of the TGR Learning Lab in Anaheim, California, in 2006, 200,000 students have benefited from these programs.

“Our programs provide students access to hands-on learning and real-world experiences that expose them to high demand careers, helping them find and follow their passions. I am proud of our staff for their dedication, and of the young people we serve, who take ahold of the opportunities provided to thrive in school and life,” said Cyndi Court, CEO of TGR Foundation.

TGR Foundation’s commitment to delivering hands-on, practical learning is central to the Learning Labs’ success. An impressive 77% of participants report learning skills they expect to use in their futures, illustrating the real-world value of the curricula. With an emphasis on STEAM-based subjects, the Labs inspire students to explore career paths in fields where diversity is often lacking. Through mentorship and comprehensive educational programs, students gain the skills and confidence to pursue their dreams, preparing them for higher education and professional careers.

The Learning Labs go beyond academic development, fostering social, emotional and leadership growth in students. By offering exposure to inspiring mentors, cutting-edge technology and real-world problem-solving opportunities, the Labs empower students not just to succeed academically but to make lasting contributions to their communities.

“Inspired by Tiger’s vision to provide students with access to safe, inspiring spaces where they can chase after their dreams, TGR Learning Labs are positively impacting the lives of students from under-resourced communities,” Court continued. “As we enter our 28th year, we are excited to continue empowering students and expanding our reach to more communities in need.”

Another aspect of TGR Foundation’s educational efforts is the Earl Woods Scholar Program, which offers comprehensive support to first-generation college students, including annual scholarships and personalized mentoring. With a 98% graduation rate, the program has been instrumental in helping students navigate the complexities of higher education, reinforcing the Foundation’s broader vision of equitable access and opportunities.

In addition to student-focused programs, TGR Foundation extends its impact by providing professional development opportunities for educators working in Title I schools. These programs ensure that teachers have the tools and strategies necessary to deliver impactful instruction, especially in STEM subjects, creating an environment where both educators and students can thrive.

TGR Foundation has plans to extend its impact by expanding its program offerings and opening new TGR Learning Labs in cities where there is great need. In 2025, TGR Learning Lab Philadelphia will open at the Cobbs Creek Campus, serving the diverse youth of West Philadelpiha. TGR Foundation has also begun providing education programs in Los Angeles in advance of the new TGR Learning Lab Los Angeles , scheduled to open at Lulu’s Place in 2026.
