Roxanne Bland selected as Empowered Woman of the Year by IAOTP

New York, NY, United States - 09-28-2022 -

Roxanne Bland is an Author, Editor, and Publisher. She was recently chosen to receive the Empowered Woman of the Year Award for 2022 given by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). Her exemplary role as a female business professional and talented entrepreneur displays her influence, capability, and proficiency.

Inclusion with the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP) is an honor, only a few women are chosen for this distinction based on their years of experience, professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, and contributions to their communities. With innovation and compassion, these women empower others to reach their goals, while creating change for future generations. Roxanne will be honored for this distinction at IAOTP’s Annual Awards Gala West being held at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas.  www.iaotp.com/award-gala

The President of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, stated “We are honored to have Roxanne as part of the IAOTP family. She provides visionary leadership as a female entrepreneur and her extraordinary accomplishments prove she will empower women worldwide. We look forward to celebrating all her merits at the Annual Awards Gala and cannot wait to see more amazing things from this woman.

With over a decade of professional experience as an Author, Editor, and Publisher, Roxanne has certainly proven herself as an accomplished professional and expert in the field. As a dynamic, results-driven leader, she has demonstrated success not only as an Author, but she has also enjoyed success in the legal field.

Her impressive repertoire of prior roles has included: Law Clerk for Quinn & Racusin, a private law firm, Counsel for the Mutistate Tax Commission, owner of the Blackrose Press publishing house, and she currently serves as Contributing Editor for Tax Notes State, an award-winning national magazine for tax professionals. Roxanne’s true passions, though, have always been reading, writing and the arts.  As a child, she wandered the museums of the Smithsonian Institution, looking to escape reality in any way she could.

Today, Roxanne escapes reality by writing novels, mainly in the science fiction, fantasy, and romance genres. For her own and others’ enjoyment, it is not unusual for her to “mash” these genres together in a single book. An award-winning author, Roxanne has self-published three acclaimed novels, the science fiction/romance The Moreva of Astoreth, the paranormal urban fantasy/science fiction/romance The Underground, and its sequel, Invasion. Roxanne’s critics praise her ability to bring to life the worlds she crafts for her novels, providing an immersive reading experience.)

Roxanne says for her, writing is the perfect form of expression, and that each book she writes is a cathartic experience. Her stories are allegorical and deal with real-world societal ills such as bigotry and oppression. In The Moreva of Astoreth, a young, headstrong, and bigoted priestess falls for a man of the race she despises, who reveals a dark secret about her gods that could tear her world apart. The Underground involves a demonic serial killer whose depredations have the paranormal and human populations of Seattle on the brink of war; the only hope for peace lies with three antagonistic paranormals with agendas of their own, and one interstellar assassin. Invasion, the sequel to The Underground, finds our three paranormals, already entangled by love and jealousy, now inextricably bound to each other by a spellcasting gone terribly wrong, and who, with the help of the interstellar assassin, must stop an alien invasion of Earth before it begins.

Roxanne also has a deep love of music. She learned to play piano at the age of seven and in time became an accomplished pianist, and was ultimately a student of the late Russian master, Basil Toutorsky. Through her involvement in several Washington, D.C. youth music programs, Roxanne also learned to play the oboe and the bass trombone. As a trombonist, she traveled with the D.C. Youth Orchestra to Japan on a month-long tour, giving joint concerts with various Japanese youth orchestras to the public.  She attended the Duke Ellington High School of the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., earned her AB in Government from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, and received her law degree from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2019, Roxanne was named the Top Fantasy & Science Fiction Author of the Year and she was honored at IAOTP’s annual awards gala at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. She will be featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine, and was chosen for IAOTP’s Empowered Woman of the Year award for 2022.

Throughout her illustrious career, Roxanne remains active in her community, and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to her profession. Looking back, she attributes her success to her perseverance, her creativity, her mentors, and remaining passionate in her endeavors.  When she is not writing tax articles or novels, she enjoys reading and spending time with her family, who she believes should be professional comedians. Roxanne says her future endeavors include continuing her growth as a tax professional, and to continue providing enjoyable escapes for her readers.
