Origins Genealogy Announces 100% Success Rate in Locating Birth Parents of Adult Adoptees

SALT LAKE CITY—Professional genealogy company Origins International (D.B.A. Origins Genealogy) announced a near-perfect success rate for finding birth parents for its customers. After an initial low-cost assessment, the company has a 100% success rate in finding birth parents for cases it accepts. “Our customers entrust us with an extremely important task: to literally help them discover where they come from and learn more about themselves,” says co-founder Jenny Wallentine. “I’m so glad that we’ve been able to deliver for each and every one of them.”

The company offers a variety of genealogical services—including ancestor research, heritage tours, and assistance constructing family trees—with locating biological parents being one of its primary offerings. Origins Genealogy’s primary clients for the service tend to be adult adoptees looking for closure and clarity.

Wallentine was herself a product of a closed adoption. As an adult, she spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours trying to find her biological father. “I only wish there had been a service like Origins when I was searching,” she recalls. Eventually, she did find her father, who was unaware he had fathered a daughter. The two have been close since their initial meeting in 2018.

Wallentine’s experience with adoption and paternal discovery has fueled her passion for helping others connect with their own biological parents. “It’s really personal for me,” she says. “I want every single Origins customer to experience the success that I did…but much faster.”

Wallentine attributes Origins remarkable track record to a combination of 3 factors: improvements in DNA testing, expansion of online databases, and meticulous detective work on the part of Origins researchers.

Home DNA test kits—23 And Me and Ancestry.com providing two of the most well-known—have made DNA testing widely accessible. Fast and affordable, they allow users to quickly get vast amounts of information about their genetic heritage—and about living relatives who have also taken DNA tests.

Once Origins gets a customer’s DNA test results, it uploads them into multiple online databases. These databases are constantly expanding as more and more folks take DNA tests, increasing the likelihood of a random individual encountering a genetic match (biological relative).

In many cases, additional detective work is needed. “Our researchers really are the best in the world,” Wallentine says. Origins’ genetic genealogy specialists pore through genomic matches, evaluating degrees of probability of relatedness (measured in centimorgans) and comparing results from online sleuthing and other resources. According to Wallentine, “it often takes a wide range of resources to conclusively pinpoint a customer’s biological parents.”

Nancy McCormick and her husband are a case in point. As Nancy relates in a Google review, “Origins Genealogy found both of my husband's biological parents, which was difficult because the DNA test alone provided no clear answers. The company provided clear explanations of all the DNA analysis, giving us confidence that the answers were right. They located photos and biographical information for both birth parents. They included a lot of information about my husband's family heritage, and provided photos and contact information for many relatives…”

Difficult as the search may sometimes be, Origins Genealogy has yet to come up empty-handed.

For those who are searching for their birth parents—or for other biological relatives—Origins Genealogy can help. All services include research with footnoted documentation including a research report, digital pedigree chart, and a documents file with full-sized copies of articles and records.
