Eagle Protect Partners with FDA Award-Winner

By: PRLog

One of 12 winners selected in FDA's "Technology Traceability Challenge"

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Oct. 13, 2021 - PRLog -- Eagle Protect, the world's only B Corp™ certified disposable glove and clothing specialist, is proud to partner with Rfider, a New Zealand-based company, and winner in the FDA's global low-or no-cost Technology Traceability Challenge.

Eagle Protect is currently finalizing a formal joint venture partnership with Rfider. The partnership provides a full traceability tool for the global distribution of Eagle Protect's verified food safe gloves—from specific manufacturing controls, third-party lab testing, to final delivery. Rfider's next-generation, cloud-based SaaS platform will help modernize customer engagement and enhance food safety practices for Eagle's customer base in the U.S. and abroad.

"Eagle Protect is proud to work with Rfider to safeguard food security," commented Eagle CEO Steve Ardagh. "Together, we are creating a more trustworthy and safer food supply for everyone in the supply chain, as we enter a new era of Food Safety."

The goal of the FDA challenge was to promote innovation in the development of scalable and affordable traceability tech tools for food service operations of all sizes. The contest is part of the FDA's New Era of Smarter Food Safety Initiative, designed to achieve safer and more digital end-to-end traceability through the entire supply chain of the food system—from source to table. Approximately 90 different companies submitted video entries for consideration, and Rfider's software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, which captures, secures, and shares critical event data along supply chains directly to consumers, was one of 12 winners selected for this prestigious honor.

"We're extremely honored to have been selected a winner in the FDA's Technology Traceability Challenge," said John Pennington, founder and CEO of Rfider. "When we combine traceability event data with greater quality process transparency we're empowering Eagle's customers to make informed purchase and usage decisions. We're delighted to be working with Eagle to provide the highest levels of product safety and performance for their customers around the world."
