Boston, Massachusetts Feb 8, 2022 (Issuewire.com) - T-Omega Wind, Inc., a spinout of Northeastern University in Boston, MA, will receive a grant of up to £100,000 GBP, as well as expert support and mentoring in the Net Zero Technology Centre's coveted TechX CleanEnergy Accelerator program.  This follows a long line of successes including winning the 2020 Cleantech Open Northeast and winning a state grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.

Attracting the most diverse, innovative technology start-ups from around the world, TechX's award-winning program provides clean energy start-ups with the tools, support, and industry connections that they need to grow, with the aim of accelerating the transition to an affordable net-zero-energy future.  T-Omega Wind was selected out of a diverse international applicant pool of over 200 companies vying for one of twelve spots in the program.

Mark Anderson, TechX Director, said: "Our fourth cohort marks the first to fully focus on clean energy - start-ups like T-Omega are essential in discovering the untapped potential that can help us close the gap in net-zero technologies. We look forward to working with T-Omega and introducing them to all of the valuable opportunities that come with taking part in TechX."

"T-Omega Wind's solution is a radically redesigned floating offshore wind turbine, optimized for low-cost and expanded deployment.  We are excited to participate in TechX to accelerate our development and provide us access to other thought leaders and potential industry partners" said Brita Osmundsvaag Formato, T-Omega Wind's CEO.  T-Omega Wind is in the process of raising capital to further develop its solution.

About T-Omega Wind, Inc.

Founded in 2020, by Andy Myers and Jim Papadopoulos, T-Omega Wind is radically redesigning offshore wind turbines to take advantage of being on the water rather than fighting it. Their revolutionary design is lightweight and deployable with only modest port infrastructure. The team won a grant through the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center's Catalyst Program, won the Northeast region of the Cleantech Open in Fall 2020, and a grant from TechX CleanEnergy Accelerator in 2022.
