Is a snake in the grass deceitful if it bites you without giving you a warning? "The slave went free; stood a brief moment in the sun; then moved back again toward slavery." - W. E. B. Du Bois

"Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind." - Virginia Woolf

In 1865 a General named Gordon Granger informed the kidnapped African people in Texas; that were taken from all over the continent of what is now called Africa; that their servitude was over 2 years ago. This event brought on many celebrations, and later out of state visits every year. In 1980 this event was officially labeled Juneteenth. On June 17th of 2021, this event of importance was signed by the executive branch of the United States to be a federal holiday. But should this special day be labeled Juneteenth? According to The Encyclopaedia Britannica, the month of June honors the Roman goddess Juno. A goddess that mainly represents the women of Rome, and Rome as the mother of her people. As the Ancient Roman National Anthem proclaimed in honor," Mother, and guide of the elect. Light of the nations, and hope of the world! Hail, O Rome!" According to ancient Roman records, the law on servitude stated that anyone that was in servitude had no rights, and was totally owned by the keeper of the bill of sale. So the term June in Juneteenth represents ancient Roman. Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind (Rudyard Kipling) A celebration by ABC News's Soul of a Nation hosted by the talented country music star Jimmie Allen. This special television show will include some of the famous voices in the music entertainment industry like Ciara, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Sapp, and Jon Batiste. The Band Dashade Music has released a new song track called Survival Boogie Beat Down referencing all the milestones that African Americans have accomplished in the last 15 years.

"This is the fasting that I have chosen: you will release the bonds of evil, and you shall cut off the burdens of deceit, and you shall release the oppressed to liberty, and you shall cut off all burdens. And you shall break your bread with the hungry, and the stranger you will bring to your house. When you shall see one naked, you also shall cover him, and you shall not turn away from a son of your body. Then your light shall be opened like the dawn, and your righteousness shall rise quickly, and your righteousness shall go before you." - Message from the Ancient Prophet Isaiah
