First National Academic Homeschool Competition Announced

By: PRLog

The Old Schoolhouse® and the College Options Foundation® have partnered to offer homeschoolers an opportunity to put their college knowledge to the test

GRAY, Tenn. - July 12, 2022 - PRLog -- For the first time ever, homeschoolers have the chance to compete in a national academic competition. Debuting this fall, the National Academic Homeschool Competition (NAHC) is the result of a partnership between The Old Schoolhouse® and College Options Foundation®. These two respected organizations are collaborating to host a virtual competition, providing homeschooled students the opportunity to compete on a national level.

"Homeschool families, this is an incredible opportunity to be a part of a national event with awards and prizes," said Gena Suarez of The Old Schoolhouse®. "Homeschoolers already know and trust The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine and our curriculum arm, SchoolhouseTeachers.com. For this competition, we're teaming up with a like-minded organization, the College Options Foundation®, since we both aim to equip and ultimately prepare students for success in life. Together we're promoting excellence in home education."

The National Academic Homeschool Competition will serve homeschool families with college and career readiness, SAT/ACT prep, and college financing planning. "Participating in the National Academic Homeschool Competition will help families save tens of thousands of dollars in college costs and reduce the stress of college prep. It will significantly improve SAT and ACT test scores and reinforce homeschool curriculum," added Terry Wilfong, president of the College Options Foundation®. "Plus, students receive free access to Total College Success, a complete guide for getting into, paying for, and succeeding in college; including Zero Hour Threat, an interactive game that prepares students for the SAT and ACT while increasing their knowledge of core subjects like math, science, and English. Our award-winning software takes students and parents through the process of preparing for college entrance exams, submitting applications, obtaining financial aid, and getting ready for that first year of college."

Pre-registration for the competition is open at NAHCRegistration.com. Homeschooled students ages 12–18 can start now by signing up to be notified when registration for the National Academic Homeschool Competition opens this fall and to receive detailed information regarding this highly anticipated event.
