Author Arame Richardson's New Book, 'The Color of Persistence' is the Stirring Tale of Coumba and Her Fight for Survival as a Black Immigrant Living in America

Recent release "The Color of Persistence" from Covenant Books author Arame Richardson tells the gripping and spellbinding tale of Coumba, who discovers the harsh realities of living as a Black immigrant in America. Determined to succeed and live her life by her own design, Coumba faces each injustice and obstacle head on and finds at the end of every tunnel is a shining light of hope.

Halethorpe, MD - September 2, 2022 - (Newswire.com)

Arame Richardson, who has served as an educator in the Baltimore City Public School System since 2009, as well as the Harford County School System from 2016-2018, has completed her new book, "The Color of Persistence": a powerful and moving tale of the adversities faced by those in America who are not a part of the favored few that life caters to.

"I guess it's safe to say that as kids growing up, we never really understood what the concept of adulthood entailed," writes Richardson. "Naive and inquisitive, especially for those of us who came from average or poor families, becoming an adult appeared to be our only path to freedom. Now that we have come of age, it has become crystal clear that those were all illusions. Life isn't a bed of roses, and that's just the way it is.

"The only part we can play in this game called life is how we react to life's challenges. You want happiness? Create your happiness. You want peace? Make peace with yourself. You're faced with obstacles and challenges on your path to achieving your goal? Face them."

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Arame Richardson's new book follows Coumba, a Black immigrant, as she struggles with finding her place in a country that seems set against her. Rather than accepting her standing in America, Coumba takes matters into her own hands and faces her oppressors head on to discover new paths and hope that guide her along her journey.

Readers can purchase "The Color of Persistence" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon or Barnes & Noble.
