From 2019 to 2021, China’s newly added installed capacity of offshore wind power ranked first in the world for three consecutive years. The scale development of offshore wind power has achieved results, showing a good growth trend in general.
Today, China has expanded its position as the world’s largest offshore wind power market with an installed capacity of 24.9 GW. 45% of the total installed capacity of global offshore wind power is installed in China.
China also takes the lead in offshore wind farms under construction, with a total capacity of nearly 3.2 GW. In the first half of 2022, 33 offshore wind farms will be put into operation globally, including 25 in China. Offshore wind power is becoming a strong driving force for green and low-carbon energy development in China and even the world.
