Patton Announces World's Smallest Ethernet Extender: New SFP Module Extends Ethernet Up to 3.5 Miles Over Copper and Achieves Speeds up to 18 MBPS

By: PRLog

Patton's tiny new SFP module delivers high-speed, long-range Ethernet connectivity over existing copper infrastructure.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Sept. 10, 2024 - PRLog -- GAITHERSBURG, MD: Patton (www.patton.com)—experts in networking, communications, cybersecurity, product development and manufacturing—is excited to announce the CopperLink® Ethernet Extender small form-factor pluggable (SFP) module, the CL-SFP, is now available for pre-order.

Patton's innovative new SFP module delivers high-speed, long-range Ethernet connectivity over existing copper infrastructure.

"Patton has been miniaturizing communication technologies for decades," stated Robert R. Patton (Bobby), Patton's Chief Operations Officer (COO). "The new CL-SFP is the smallest form factor Ethernet Extender ever."

Since creating the first Ethernet extender in the 1990's, Patton has brought dozens of SFP modules to market including Ethernet over Fiber, VoIP Gateways, Data Diode Cyber Security and now the CopperLink SFP Ethernet-over-Copper module.

The CL-SFP is a Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) Ethernet extender that seamlessly integrates with routers, Ethernet switches, and media converters. The device extends Ethernet connections up to 3.5 miles (6.2 Km) over installed copper twisted pair.

Key Features of the CL-SFP Ethernet Extender:

  • Extended Distance and High Speed: The CL-SFP extends Ethernet over long distances (up to 3.5 miles) with data rates up to 18 Mbps, making it an ideal alternative to costly new fiber installations.
  • Seamless Integration: Designed to fit into standard SFP slots, the CL-SFP easily integrates with existing Ethernet switches, routers, and network devices. The miniature device enables quick deployment while reducing installation costs.
  • Versatile: The module provides network extension in a variety of environments, including industrial, government, commercial, and residential.
  • Reliable Performance: Engineered with Patton's renowned reliability, the CL-SFP ensures consistent performance in demanding conditions. Its robust design makes it suitable for applications in military, transportation, energy, heavy manufacturing, and other mission critical industries.
  • Plug-and-Play: The CL-SFP features a plug-and-play design, requiring no configuration. This feature simplifies installation, which reduces the time and effort required to implement network extensions.

Availability
Patton is now taking pre-orders for the CL-SFP. The CL-SFP CopperLink® Ethernet Extender will be available from Patton's global network of distributors and resellers within about 8 weeks.
