About the Author

Rick Ramberg comes from a family of nine. Having grown up in the mid-Michigan area. His family is the best part of his life. Falling at number four on the list provided Rick with older siblings to nurture and guide him. And younger siblings for him to pass on that same type of nurturing. There is not one sibling more special to Rick than the other. Each has outstanding character, both in their personal life and in society. This applies to their spouses, as well. Rick would not trade them for anything. His family was raised by the most loving parents anyone could ask for.

Rick’s siblings make up the bulk of the stories behind these writings. If not for the events behind the scenes of his childhood, the writer would have no ink, to be placed on these pages. You will even see, mixed in with Rick’s writings, stories told by some of his siblings themselves.

His proudest accomplishments are all about his God and his family. Rick committed, in his teens, to be a child of God. And his God has been there with him throughout his lowest of lows and his highest of highs. Rick is blessed to be able to be the husband of his wife of 39 years. His gorgeous wife has been through most all this, supporting him every step of the way.

Rick and his wife have two of the finest adult children any parent could ask for. Both Rick and Ilene come from upstanding families in the community. With both having siblings, they would take a bullet for.

Rick states, “Family is everything. Make the best of what you have. If you find yourself wanting such things, work hard and pray for such. Most of all, pray. My life is where it is because of prayer.”

This writer has lived through 13 presidents. Three major recessions. Countless economic recoveries. A major part of the industrial boom and demise thereof. He’s lived through what is referred to as the digital boom. He’s watched the world go from party lines to smart phones. He’s had friends die from everything from suicide to horrific accidents and from substance abuse to cancer. He’s experienced what some would think to be near poverty, to financial freedom. Rick graduated high school with a below average grade point and from graduate school with a near honors level. He has stood in unemployment lines for weeks on end. And at times had three jobs and worked 60, 70 and 80 hours per week. Much of the time while attending college. One of Rick’s most common statements to young people relative to college is, ‘Stick with it. Even if it’s one class a semester’. It took me thirty years to attain a Master’s Degree.

Rick:

“My God offers us an eternity of unlimited beauty”.
“This country offers anyone willing to work for success unlimited riches.”
“I am grateful to have been part of it all.”
“My most famous statement and what I live by, along with my Christian beliefs.”
“Our character is made up of all those whom we’ve ever known or have come into contact with.”
