bebe stores, inc. Announces May 2007 Sales

BRISBANE, CALIF. – June 7, 2007 – bebe stores, inc. (Nasdaq: BEBE) today reported retail sales of $53.1 million for the four-week period ended June 2, 2007, an increase of 8.1% compared to sales of $49.1 million for the four-week period ended May 27, 2006. Same store sales for the four-week period ended June 2, 2007 decreased 3.0% compared to an increase of 1.6% for May 2006.

Retail sales for the year-to-date period ending June 2, 2007 were $604.6 million compared to $521.3 million for the year-to-date period ending May 27, 2006, an increase of 16.0%. Same store sales for the year-to-date period ending June 2, 2007 increased 3.8% compared to an increase of 6.4% for the year-to-date period ending May 27, 2006. Due to the 53rd week in fiscal 2007, same store sales for the year-to-date period exclude the additional week from fiscal January 2007.

As of June 2, 2007, average finished goods inventory per square foot was approximately 5.1% higher as compared to the prior year.
