On January 8, 2009, First Northern Community Bancorp issued a press release announcing that it has received preliminary approval to participate in the U.S. Department of Treasury (“U.S. Treasury”) Capital Purchase Program (“CPP”), a copy of which is included as ITEM 9.01 (d)  Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference in ITEM 8.01.
