J.O Interview with Muzique Magazine

How did you come by your stage name?

Concerning my stage name, I’ve been thinking for some time and I’m now choosing to be known as J.O (pronounced jayo). That has been my nickname since birth and it resonates with who I am more to me than Jacob Pnake (previous)

When did you discover your love for your craft and what made you realize you wanted to pursue a career in it?

My mother and older sister always told me I would make up songs of gibberish when j was a child so I can say I’ve loved music for as long as I can remember. I decided to pursue it because I want to do what I love in life and live from it in 2018.

To what or whom do you accredit your sense of style?

My musical style If I could describe it myself would be Kanye west meets young thug and they both went to kick it with Travis Scott.

On your current project, how did you come up with the concept?

The current project, the roaring 20s (TBA), was something new and my older sister came up with while smoking and discussing the crazy unprecedented historical times the world is in, such as the pandemic and the advancements in tech and everything.

What are some of your greatest challenges, and what is your greatest attribute when it comes to your work ethic?

My biggest challenge which is still ongoing is finding whatever it is I seek, from within myself. No need for external validations! My greatest attribute concerning my work ethic is analysis.

Are you the best at what you do in your opinion?

My production style is unique because of the influence of different musical environments, I’m definitely a standout star.

What are your plans for the near future?

To release more music videos and work on expanding my audience.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank, any shout outs?

I’d like to thank my cousins for being great, my siblings for supporting me, and my mother for birthing me.

How can fans find you?

You can follow me on Instagram

Also on @jacobpnake

What suggestions do you have for other artist like yourself?

I think we all ought to do a better job of caring less About what others think about us or our music, especially if they aren’t even fans. We do not have to be liked by all, find your group!
