3rd Annual 710 Compassion Day Weekend in Recognition of 710 Oil Day Launches at State Capitol

By: PRLog

Harris and Associates, Georgia Hemp Association and The Green Rush Team are sponsoring a three day long patient-centered educational initiative for HB 324 from July 8th to July 10, 2021

ATLANTA - June 25, 2021 - PRLog -- Patients, entrepreneurs, elected officials and other interested community members now have a place annually to come together to learn, network and build sustainable, affordable solutions for safe access, harm reduction, whole plant wellness  and many other opportunities for the patient community and general public. Spearheaded by Harris and Associates LLC and the Georgia Hemp Association for the 3rd year strong, this team has banded together with community stakeholders  to create a Day of Compassion. This event started in 2019 as a platform to create productive dialogue between elected officials and the public and has grown to this three day event starting July 8, 2021 and concludes on July 10, 2021.

The kick-off is July 8th where from 12-1 there is a meeting held at the Georgia State capitol building for a press conference with elected officials, patients, community advocates and open to the public in the main rotunda. Then July 9th, meet up with other like minded entrepreneurs for a network mixer at The Glenwood in East Atlanta Village. This is an opportunity for businesses to learn how to get involved with the south eastern market. Finally join us Saturday July 10th at the Best End Brewery for a Keynote Address and Round Table with Dr. Terel Newton, MD Medical Cannabis for Trauma and Injury Patients, MD, Total Pain Relief LLC Fellowship-Trained in Interventional Pain Management Board-Certified Anesthesiologist, Medical Cannabis Physician and Educator. There will be additional musical entertainment, DIY demo stations for the children and additional activities to be announced.

Many of you are now becoming familiar with 420 or 4/20 being known as the smokers holiday. As the consumption preferences of cannabis have expanded, so has industry  holidays. 710 has growingly become a celebration of variously extracted cannabis products such as oil, edibles, dabs, wax, crumble, vape etc. The holiday is known in short as OIL Day, since when you turn the word oil around it looks like 710. This is the significance of holding this event annually on July 10th for Georgia's oil based patient program.

On April 17, 2019 Governor Brian Kemp (R) signed the Georgia Hope Act also known as HB 324 into law. This law was designed to allow Georgia's 15,000 + patient registry access to low dose, clean, safe and affordable medical cannabis oil within the state of Georgia. This law allows no more than 5% THC and can be obtained from licensed dispensaries or specially licensed pharmacies-- which do not exist and have not existed since the program's inception in 2019. These companies have joined together to create a space for patients, CBD providers, entrepreneurs, elected officials and other interested community members to come together to network and build sustainable solutions and opportunities to progress through this new evolution of medicinal use.
