DESCRIPTION:

Congratulations to Franklin Templeton’s Tom Deane, who was recognized by Junior Achievement of Northern California (JA) as a 2021 Volunteer of the Year. The award recognizes contributions made to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.

Junior Achievement is a key global charity partner of Franklin Templeton. Employee volunteers across the country help deliver JA curriculum to provide innovative, hands-on work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy education to students.

Deane, along with other volunteers and educators, was honored at the JA Virtual Hall of Fame event in June.

This is how Deane describes his experience with the organization: “I began participating over 10 years ago in JA Job Shadows hosted by my company, and I have coordinated them annually since 2014, including last year’s first virtual event. I love seeing students learning about the investment management business, receiving good advice on practical steps they can begin taking now to prepare for their future education and careers, and spending time with professionals in careers for which they have indicated a preference to pursue. I enjoy observing similar benefits for students that have participated in the JA Virtual Career Speaker Series events that we hosted last year and this year.”

“Junior Achievement volunteers and educators help build communities by empowering the next generation’s success,” said JA Northern California Board Chair Adrian Dimech, VP Field Operations – West at AT&T.

Franklin Templeton extends its sincere thanks to Tom and other employee volunteers for sharing theiryour time and talents with yourin the community.
