The new Top-Level Domain will provide a unique brand identity, foster a vibrant online community, and support blockchain and AI educational initiatives for this year's Paris Global Summit

PARIS, FRANCE / ACCESSWIRE / May 7, 2024 / For the first time, Women in Tech Global Summit, an annual event shaping the future of women in innovation, will have its own web3 top-level domain (TLD), providing a digital community for attendees and a platform for a range of initiatives to support the next generation of female tech leaders.

Every delegate at the Summit-held this year in Paris from 6-7 May-will be able to log in using their own unique "Name.WITG" digital identity to enter the event's community, where they can network and access educational resources, including about the intersection of blockchain and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, .WITG will enable Women in Tech to grow its global brand by allowing its community to become ambassadors on social and Web3 communities thanks to a branded domain extension-similar to the effect from "Sent from my iPhone" email signatures.

The new .WITG TLD will be delivered by Unstoppable Domains (UD), the leading Web3 domain name and digital identity provider. In the future, UD and Women in Tech Global will also plan to apply for a branded Web2 generic top-level domain (gTLD) with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the entity regulating addresses in the traditional Domain Name System (DNS), at the upcoming ICANN gTLD issuance, currently expected in 2026. A TLD is the highest-ranking root-level domain in issuance. If approved, a new .WIT gTLD will be created, standing alongside such iconic addresses as .com, .net, .org, and others.
