Infinedi-Owned CEA CAPA Education Abroad Acquires Atlantis

Infinedi Partners, LP (“Infinedi”) announced today that its portfolio company, CEA CAPA Education Abroad (“CEA CAPA” or the “Company”), has completed the acquisition of St. Mary’s Institute for Educational Excellence (dba “Atlantis”).

Atlantis is the leading provider of experiential education abroad for college and university students pursuing careers as doctors, nurses, lawyers and management consultants. Atlantis’ solutions help nearly 2,500 pre-professional students obtain real world experience crucial for employment and/or graduate school acceptance annually. The Company goes to market through three brands: Atlantis (pre-med and pre-nursing), Lex Fellowship (pre-law), and Beacon Fellowship (pre-consulting).

CEA CAPA works with more than 350 U.S. universities to provide comprehensive educational and internship abroad programs in Europe, Central and South America and Australia. With 11 international study centers and 45 international university partners, the organization serves more than 7,500 college and university students annually. Today’s announcement follows Infinedi’s acquisitions of CEA in August 2020 and CAPA in April 2021.

“We are thrilled to add Atlantis to our organization. I am highly confident that this acquisition will allow us to further expand on our long history of serving the needs of our university partners and students,” said Beth Stiller, CEO of CEA CAPA.

Jay Hegenbart, Founder and Managing Partner of Infinedi, commented, “We are pleased to welcome Atlantis to the CEA CAPA team. The success of CEA CAPA underscores the power of Infinedi’s lower middle market, research-focused and industry-specialized approach to making control investments in founder-owned businesses. We look forward to issuing similar announcements in the near future.”

“We have been interested in Atlantis for several years given its unique blend of shadowing programs for professional careers and experiential education abroad,” said Carter Harned, Partner at Infinedi. “We expect that CEA CAPA will collaborate with its university partners to utilize these highly valuable shadowing opportunities in semester-long, for-credit study abroad programs.”
