The College for Financial Planning®—a Kaplan Company Launches Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional℠ Designation Program in Spanish to Better Serve Hispanic Investors

The College for Financial Planning—a Kaplan Company has launched a Spanish-language version of its Financial Paraplanner Qualified ProfessionalSM (FPQP®) professional designation program. This designation is ideal for Spanish-speaking or bilingual advisors starting their careers who are looking for a working knowledge of financial terms and concepts in Spanish, enabling them to better communicate with clients in their native language and build lasting relationships. And financial services companies that currently serve the Hispanic community, as well as those that are looking to expand their services, may consider this course for their employees to foster a workforce that better understands Hispanic clients’ aspirations and promote a culturally sensitive approach to financial advising.

According to Finhabits, a bilingual financial wellness platform, over the last 10 years Hispanics’ net wealth increased at a rate of 12.5%, compounded annually (vs. 6.8% for non-Latino Whites). At this growth rate, Hispanics are slated to accumulate $113 trillion dollars of wealth by 2050. By comparison, the total household wealth in the U.S. in 2022 was $140 trillion.

“This designation is important in our industry for a few key reasons. Speaking Spanish demonstrates respect for the client's cultural background and a willingness to understand their unique needs, preferences, and financial goals. It can also foster trust and comfort, which is crucial for discussing matters of personal wealth,” said Dirk Pantone, president of the College, which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. “With this designation program, financial professionals can ensure personalized strategies, paving the way for stronger financial futures within this dynamic and expanding community. "

Professionals interested in enrolling in the course can visit the College’s website.
