Kenneth and Tamara Williams are the dynamic husband and wife team behind Royal Cheesecake & Varieties. Their culinary journey, rooted in family traditions and a passion for baking, has led them from a humble kiosk to a thriving bakery and dessert empire in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Kenneth, a culinary certified baker, honed his skills by learning from his mother while baking pies from the apple tree in their Detroit backyard. Tamara, grandma certified, drew inspiration from her Mississippi-born grandmother’s baking techniques. Together, they embarked on their entrepreneurial adventure, starting Royal Cheesecake & Varieties at a kiosk in Northgate Mall in Durham in 2013, just in time for the holiday season.
After the initial success at the mall, Kenneth and Tamara expanded their reach by participating in various farmers markets, festivals, and events, including the African American Cultural Festival, Black Farmers Market, Got To Be NC, and the North Carolina State Fair.
