Book cover of Notes From A BlackBerry

Notes From A BlackBerry began as a story to tell of the author's daughter Taytem's extremely rare genetic condition and the struggles of finding a diagnosis. Barth began writing while her late husband was undergoing chemotherapy, and the tale evolved to encompass the journey of their entire family while battling illness. After later nursing Taytem through a unique soft tissue carcinoma unrelated to her genetic condition and trying to pick up the pieces of two decades of loss and survival, Barth revisited her notes from those early years and realized she had invaluable lessons to share with the world around her.

Despite the hardships Barth and her family have faced, Notes From A BlackBerry has a core message that is both hopeful and inspirational. From true love to the courage of motherhood, this insightful memoir examines many facets of the resilience of the human spirit.

Barth hopes her work will inspire others to be vulnerable, share openly, and ask for help on their darkest days.

Notes From A BlackBerry will be available for purchase starting May 15, 2024 on Amazon.com or wherever books are sold. Barth's second book is scheduled for publication in late 2024 / early 2025.

Julie Barth is a professional writer by trade. She found her voice while managing a blog for her husband to document his struggles with pancreatic cancer. She and her daughter Taytem are coauthors of the yet-to-be-launched series of children's books, The Adventures of Princess Tutu Tay. Taytem, a self-taught artist, has her art available for sale on hope4tayt.com. Julie, daughter Piper, and Taytem, are in the beginning stages of launching a charity called Hope4Tayt to help local families in crisis with immediate and impactful aid.
