Lake Norman Philharmonic - Free Community Concert

The Lake Norman Philharmonic (LKN PHIL) returns to perform at the Liberty Park Amphitheater on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at 4:00 P.M. Admission is free to the public.

LAKE NORMAN, N.C. & MOORESVILLE, N.C. - April 27, 2024 - PRLog -- A highlight of Mooresville's arts scene, the Lake Norman Philharmonic has entertained audiences with its exciting and eclectic programs at Liberty Park, the Mooresville Performing Arts Center, and the Charles Mack Citizen Center, just to name a few.  The LKN PHIL is returning to Liberty Park on May 5, 2024, at 4:00 pm for your listening pleasure.   Admission to the event is FREE for the public; donations are welcome.

Conducted by  Maestro Eduardo Cedeño, the Lake Norman Philharmonic will feature special classical and contemporary selections at this concert.  You'll enjoy soloist Timothy (TJ) Smith performing the first movement of the Concerto for F. Horn (Strauss), and a trumpet duet by Dave Ellis and Dan Hoffses of Quiet City (Copland).  As a special treat, soloist Meredith Whitlow will be performing O Mio Babbino Mio (Puccini).   Maestro Cedeño and the all-volunteer orchestra are preparing a lively second half of the concert with more contemporary music selections, including pieces from An American in Paris (Gershwin) and Disney Film Favorites (Vinson), among other popular tunes.   This free, family-friendly event will be sure to delight all ages!  So, bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the afternoon with us.

"We are happy to showcase our orchestra consisting of local talent, all of whom have worked very hard to bring the best of their favorite music to the community," says Maestro Cedeño.  "We're so pleased to entertain in this unique open-air venue and launch the Lake Norman Philharmonic's season with a great performance for our friends, families, and the community."

The Lake Norman Philharmonic, ("LKN PHIL), is a registered, nonprofit community orchestra founded and conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño.  The LKN PHIL is comprised of community musicians and is open to all local instrumentalists desiring to share their talent and perform orchestral music that enhances performing arts in communities surrounding the Lake Norman, North Carolina region. The LKN PHIL is committed to outreach and collaboration with artists from the local community, schools, and universities with programs that foster music education.  The Orchestra performs from four to six concerts a year beginning in April and continuing through early December.  No audition is required; rehearsals are held every Monday evening, 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Langtree Charter Academy Upper School in Mooresville, NC.  Website:  lknphil.org
