Killer Noodle Ramen to Open First Texas Eatery

By: WebWire

Tsujita, purveyor of Japanese cuisine, announced the opening of the very first Killer Noodle ramen shop in Houston, Texas. Killer Noodle will be opening on October 15, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. and celebrating throughout the weekend with great food and promotions. The restaurant is located at 1835 N. Shepherd Drive #B Houston, TX 77008, occupying 4,000 square foot next door to The Waffle Bus.

At Killer Noodle, Houston foodies can indulge in the culture of traditional Japanese ramen, but with the option to customize the heat/spice to their own liking. Killer Noodle serves tantanmen noodles, which originate from Sichuan province of China. These straight, thin noodles, paired with classic and modern Japanese flavors, has become synonymous with ramen across Asia today.

History of the Tsujita Brands

Takehiro Tsujita launched his first Tokyo ramen shop in 2003. Since then, the Tsujita restaurant company has expanded to 18 different stores across Japan that serve ramen, sushi and other local favorites. Tsujita opened its first U.S. location in Los Angeles in 2011, and has earned acclaim as one of the best ramen restaurants in Los Angeles — “the king of Tonkatsu ramen” according to the late food columnist, Jonathan Gold.

The Birth of Killer Noodle

Mr. Tsujita reimagined traditional Japanese ramen with the opening of the first Killer Noodle Tsujita in 2017, to appeal to a broader palate while maintaining the excellence of Tsujita. Offering modernized takes on traditional flavors and signature customizable spice levels, the Killer Noodle brand has two locations in California (West Los Angeles and San Gabriel) and soon to be, a third in Houston.

How to Order at Killer Noodle

The menu at Killer Noodle offers ramen with soup or without, where the flavorful broth acts as a sauce for slightly thicker noodles. Protein choices include chashu pork, soft-boiled egg, tofu and there are myriad toppings and aromatics. Sample appetizers like gyoza (pork dumplings), pork bun, chicken karaage, takoyaki (ball-shaped octopus pancake), tofu salad and top it off with a refreshing beverage: green tea, imported and domestic beer, and sake.

Future Growth Plans

While ramen has always been a ubiquitous part of Asian cultures; interest has exploded globally, and it is an iconic favorite of foodies everywhere in the U.S. The company plans to open three additional Killer Noodle/Tsujita brand locations in Texas by 2023, and a Tsujita restaurant in New Jersey late 2022.
