Laser Lithography Device For Quantum & Material Science: Micro Designs Updated

miDALIX has announced more updates to its laser lithography machine for quantum device applications, helping teams deliver fast results by covering the entire process of product development, from design to illumination.

Cerklje na Gorenjskem,Slovenia - December 12, 2022 /PressCable/

The Slovenia-based company’s recently enhanced device eliminates the need for using UV light and a mask, generally involved in standard lithography for projecting an image on a photosensitive emulsion or photoresist. Its software-based solution, DaLI, is a tabletop system delivering precise laser technology that also lowers overall project costs.

Rendering nano-meter level precision and equipped with a multi-color microscope, miDALIX’s newly enhanced maskless lithography device can be used for a variety of applications, including material science, 2D materials, and quantum devices. By using this state-of-the-art system, teams can move a host of electrodes and other designs to a single micro crystal, mono layers, or other demanding microstructures.

“The shape, size, and surface characteristics do not make a difference to the DaLI, “a company representative said. “Even objects smaller than 1 mm can be aligned, focused, and processed just like wafers and substrates of standard shapes and sizes.”

DaLI employs a near-UV laser source combined with acousto-optic deflectors (AOD), enabling users to achieve designs with nanometer-scale and sub-micrometer resolution and smooth edges. The system also allows for high-precision positioning of the sample’s shape and size, eliminating the need for utilizing markers or additional alignment or features. It also distinguishes structures’ thickness, including that of flakes and crystals.

In addition to material science, 2D materials, and quantum devices, the maskless lithography system developed by miDALIX can also be used in various other research environments and industries, including microelectronics, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), biophysics, and microfluidics.
