Ember Launches New Line of Caffeinated Gummies

Ember Launches Innovative Energy Gummies Designed for Busy Professionals, Students

Ember, a New York-based consumer brand that develops and markets functional gummies, has launched a new line of caffeinated gummies in mocha and green tea matcha flavors. According to the company, Ember energy chews are designed to provide busy working professionals, students, athletes and military servicemen and servicewomen with convenient, effective and jitter-free energy to overcome their afternoon crash. Ember developed its unique and proprietary gummy formulas in collaboration with industry veteran food scientists.

Ember was founded by two students at the University of Chicago and the University of Michigan who wanted to create a gummy alternative to coffee, energy drinks and caffeine pills. According to the company, Ember’s two cofounders conceived of the idea while sitting in classroom lectures, where the pair found themselves tired and in need of a quick, convenient, and jitter-free energy boost. After developing a prototype and conducting taste tests on their campuses, they began selling their Ember caffeine and L-Theanine gummies in 2022.

While Ember currently ships its gummies only within the continental United States, the company has donated thousands of pouches to military personnel and frontline workers in Ukraine. The company commented, “We have heard back that Ukrainian soldiers find Ember particularly useful during evenings when they have to stay awake and alert in the field."

Each pouch of Ember energy chews contains 200 milligrams of caffeine, which is equivalent to the energizing effect of two cups of coffee. For reference, the FDA has stated that a typical cup of coffee contains around 95 milligrams of caffeine. Additionally, ember gummies contain L-Theanine, an amino acid naturally found in tea, which has been shown to offset certain of caffeine’s negative side effects. Each ember gummy contains 3 grams of sugar and 20 calories.
